Tron founder Justin Sun will attend the Samsung Developer Conference on Tuesday to announce a new partnership between his cryptography company and the telecommunications giant.
Tron will be integrated with the Samsung keystore SDK, which helps users manage private keys. The SDK allows coders to build with the Tron network by giving them direct access to the blockchain via Samsung devices.
We still do not know how this partnership changes anything for TRX token users beyond portfolio support. In the days leading up to the announcement, Sun tweeted on a partnership with a "mega-corporation" that "would widely distribute $ Tron Dapps (decentralized applications) and tokens to billions of customers".
The Pew Research Center estimated that 5 billion people currently have access to mobile devices, of which only half are smartphones. Considering that Samsung is among the leading hardware vendors, alongside Apple and Huawei, both of which have gained significant market share, it would be hard to imagine a billion users accessing the Samsung Blockchain Keystore. (CoinDesk could not contact Samsung for a comment. We will update the article if we have new news.)
Beyond mobile wallets, Samsung devices should have the same direct access to Tron blockchain data. In theory, this could help dapp developers create products for Samsung users who do not depend on third-party portfolios.
As such, Sun announced that this new conduit was a "milestone" for Tron. According to Tron's latest report, there would be about 3.9 million Tron wallet accounts and 611 dapps.
In a WhatsApp message, Sun told CoinDesk that the partnership would make it easier for "millions of Samsung device users" because developers can create apps to help them. Samsung devices.
"One of the biggest frictions in the dapp user experience is the wallet," Sun told CoinDesk, adding:
"With Tron / Samsung integration, users will no longer need a third-party portfolio. and develops can only focus on the content it is creating and offer a seamless experience to end users. "
